After four years building IMRSV, our emotion analysis company was acquired by facial recognition firm Kairos. A short reflection on an epic journey.
IMRSV has been acquired by Kairos. It's been an epic four-year journey that has taken me all over the world. I was able to live my dream. So grateful. Now I get to start a new chapter. On to the next.
For those unfamiliar, IMRSV built Cara, software that turned any camera into an intelligent sensor for audience analytics and emotion recognition. We developed computer vision technology that could analyze facial expressions, attention, and engagement in real time. It was the kind of technology that felt like science fiction when we started, and by the time we were acquired, it was powering real-world applications for brands and retailers.
The journey took us through Plug and Play accelerator, onto the stage at NY Tech Meetup, and into the pages of Forbes, CNN, Fast Company, Wired, and NBC Bay Area. Every milestone felt surreal. Building a company from nothing, assembling a team that believed in the vision, and pushing the boundaries of what cameras could understand about human behavior, it was the hardest and most rewarding thing I've ever done.
Being acquired by Kairos, a leader in facial recognition technology, felt like the right next step for the technology and the team. I'm proud of what we built, grateful for everyone who was part of the journey, and excited for what comes next.
